
The aims of the Children and Young People’s University Cymru
For students
- To build on and enrich what they already know, understand and can do, as well as offering them new areas to explore.
- To provide them with a wide range of individual and shared learning opportunities.
- To provide opportunities for them to have fun and enjoyment.
- To help them improve their own performance at school.
- To encourage individuals to participate in community based activities.
For parents/guardians
- To develop further opportunities for their children to learn outside normal teaching hours.
- To provide high quality programmes and keep them under review.
- To share and celebrate their children's achievements with them.
For educational and non-educational establishments
- To broaden curriculum opportunities.
- To help their students become even more confident learners.
- To encourage the active involvement of the community in students' learning.
- To recognise community based activities for children.
For tutors
- To add value to what tutors already do.
- To enhance their Continued Professional Development.
- To provide the opportunity to research new ideas and methodologies.

The aims can be achieved by organising a range of modules which take place outside normal teaching hours, as in the model operating in Wrexham.
