September 2010 entry (EU students)
Glyndŵr University is a member of the University of Wales and is pleased to be able to welcome EU students to enter the BA Business Management degree programme in September 2010.
The BA (Hons) Business programme provides an ideal insight into the world of business and the skills and abilities required in order to become a successful manager. This is a broad-ranging course which covers the main areas of business and management and allows you to specialise in topics which reflect your career aspirations. A range of key personal skills will be developed, which will help formulate, evaluate and recommend solutions to business problems, take responsibility and initiative in projects, develop information technology skills and communicate effectively. The business tutors at Glyndŵr University have links with the region’s business community and enjoy good working relationships with professional bodies.
There are opportunities for students who have studied in Europe to enter the Business programme at Glyndŵr University at various levels.
Entry requirements
Typical entry will be as follows:
- Completion of 6 semesters in an EU University allows a student to enter at year 3 and gain a BA (Honours) Business Management in one year.
- Completion of the DUT in France, or 4 semesters in an EU University, allows a student to study 60 credits (30ECTS) at year 2 and 60 credits (30ECTS) at year 3 in order to gain a BA (Ordinary) Business Management in one year.
- Completion of the BTS in France, or 2 semesters in an EU University allows a student to join year 2 of the programme.
In order to be eligible, a student must:
- satisfy the relevant academic entry criteria (see examples above)
- have a level of English equivalent to IELTS 6.0 - recommendation of English standard from a tutor at the home university will usually be sufficient.
Course structure
The programme is modular and is organised into two semesters per year. Full-time students normally study 120 University of Wales credits of modules in each academic year. Some of the modules are 20 credits each and are delivered throughout the academic year, but a few modules of 10 credits are delivered in one semester only.
10 University of Wales credits = 5 ECTS credits
Teaching and assessment
Most modules are delivered using main theme lectures where underlying concepts and theories are developed and explained. These are supplemented by smaller group tutorials which provide the opportunity for discussion and application. Directed study is also important, and Glyndŵr University’s extensive learning support services, staff and personal subject tutors are always available to assist students. All assignments, module specifications and supplementary learning materials are accessible through the Virtual Learning Environment, which is a web-based resource. For each module students are normally required to complete one assignment and one examination or two assignments.

Tuition fees
Glyndŵr University is committed to providing financial information and support for all students. The amount of financial assistance will be dependent upon personal circumstances, household income and residency status. The student finance officers are highly experienced in ensuring that students get the best financial support package possible for their studies. For the academic year 2010/2011 the annual tuition fees for full-time undergraduate students are £3,290.
