Computing at Glyndŵr University is a dynamic area combining the core principles of the discipline with a forward-looking approach to embracing new developments in the fast-moving world of computer technology.

The university’s portfolio of Computing courses is developed in partnership with employers to ensure our graduates have the skills demanded by industry.

Whether you are looking to develop a career as a computing specialist, in IT support and network management or to work creatively with computers, our courses can provide you with the grounding you need as well as the freedom to specialise.

Our strong emphasis on high-quality research also informs the content of taught courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Staff have a broad range of expertise as well as specific research interests and experience of working with industry, which they are enthusiastic about sharing with students.

This expertise, as well as the support provided, means teaching from foundation degree through to postgraduate level is consistent, relevant and engaging.

The university has extensive computer facilities including a specialist laboratory dedicated to computer networking and a computer game development studio.

The recently-opened Centre for the Creative Industries will also play a key role in teaching and research in a range of areas.

Glyndŵr University hosts a biennial internet research conference which attracts delegates from across the world, while staff also work closely with the British Computer Society.

The Computing subject area is a recognised Cisco Networking Academy.
