Creative Writing

BA (Hons) Creative Writing and History

BA (Hons) English and Creative Writing

BA (Hons) Broadcasting, Journalism and Creative Writing

Creative writing isn’t just about sitting down with a pen and a bit of paper - there’s a lot more to it than you’d think. Here at Glyndŵr University we’ll reveal all. By the end of the course you’ll be familiar with how the literary industry works and what’s needed to satisfy editors.

We’ll teach you how drafting, editing and polishing creative copy are all closely interlinked. You’ll learn how being self-critical of your work is one of the best editing tools for you as a writer.

We’ll show you how you can improve your writing by responding positively to editorial comments as well. Writers need to be diverse enough to adapt to all sorts of writing styles and formats.

Weekly workshops held as part of the course provide the perfect opportunity to practise.

By the end of the course you’ll be able to turn your hand to anything - short stories and novels for children, adults and teenagers, life writing and poetry. We’ll also show you how to write for radio, TV and cinema.
