Floristry

NPTC Master Diploma in Professional Floristry (Level 5)*

Why choose Floristry?

The new MDPF award replaces and updates the National Diploma of the Society of Floristry (NDSF). It is the highest floristry qualification in the UK.

The award has been devised to meet the needs of skilled florists wishing to progress and extend their advanced skills in line with national and international standards. Successful candidates can use the initials MDPF after their name.

The course has been designed to train professional florists. The syllabus is challenging and includes appropriate aspects of equivalent international awards such as the European ‘Master’ qualifications. The award is intended to enhance and extend the professional floristry skills of business owners, managers, senior florists, supervisors, self-employed, freelancers, tutors, trainers, assessors, and managers.

Applicants must be highly motivated as there is a strong emphasis on independent study outside the taught sessions. Delivery methods include practical sessions, lectures, intensive workshops, plus distance/blended learning using ICT packages.

Special features

  • Where appropriate the course will utilise the skills and expertise of a team of specialist tutors, professional florists and successful business people drawn from across the floristry industry both nationally and internationally.
  • Learners who complete the level 5 MDPF award will be able to use the letters MDPF after their name and will be able to apply for membership of the Society of Floristry, the industry’s professional trade association, at ‘Fellow’ level (FSF).
