Library and study

Glyndŵr University's library offers a wide range of information resources to support your studies in a comfortable and flexible learning environment.

We have over 120,000 books, DVDs and other learning resources in the Edward Llwyd Centre on the Wrexham Plas Coch Campus.

We also offer access to all staff and students to online electronic resources such as about 1,000 electronic textbooks and over 6,000 full text electronic journals.

The best way to get started is to search our catalogue at http://library.glyndwr.ac.uk where you will also be able to search for books at Bangor University Library. If you are a member of staff or student at Bangor University your library card entitles you to borrow from Glyndŵr University Library.

Our opening hours during semester are:

Monday                                        8.45am – 10pm
Tuesday                                       8.45am – 10pm
Wednesday                                  8.45am – 10pm
Thursday                                      8.45am – 10pm
Friday                                          8.45am – 9pm
Saturday                                      10am – 5pm
Sunday / Bank Holidays  Closed

Hours may vary during University vacations at Christmas, Easter and during the Summer, look out for notices and announcements.

Glyndŵr University Library is part of the SCONUL Access scheme http://access.sconul.ac.uk/ so if you are a member of staff, a postgraduate student or part time/distance learning/placement undergraduate student at another UK university you may be able borrow from our Library. Please let us know if you wish to join the library by sending an e mail to enquirydesk@glyndwr.ac.uk

If you are a member of Wrexham Public Library Service or Yale Learning Resource Centre you are entitled to borrow books from Glyndŵr University Library on the production of your home library card under the Gateway to Libraries in Wrexham scheme (GaLW).

The Health Promotion Library

The Health Promotion Library is part of the Public Health Wales NHS Trust and is located at Glyndŵr University Library in Wrexham. The Health Promotion Library offers a wide range of information and advice on various topics including:

Alcohol and Drugs
The Elderly
Healthy Sexuality
Mental health
Nutrition
Smoking
Stress

The information is available through a comprehensive range formats including DVDs and teaching packs on a lending service as well as an extensive range of free health promotion leaflets. A catalogue of all DVDs and teaching packs , giving guidance on whom they are aimed at and a catalogue code can be accessed at http://ww2.newi.ac.uk/health_promotion_library/index.asp

Health promotion books are also available to borrow from Glyndŵr University Library which can be searched at http://library.glyndwr.ac.uk/

The Health Promotion Library is open 8.45am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday.
