Plas CochSituated on the edge of Wrexham, Plas Coch is located between Wrexham football club and a retail park containing Sainsbury’s, a number of restaurants and other shops. The site is in a pleasant open area with views of the nearby hills. It has ready access to the main road system linking Wrexham to Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham. Plas Coch offers study facilities in a safe, accessible and stimulating environment. The purpose-built site has over 70 lecture theatres, seminar rooms and conference suites with a wide range of workshops and laboratories. These are complemented by library and learning resource facilities and a sports centre. Techniquest Glyndŵr, the science discovery centre, is based at Plas Coch and is open to the public. The centre supports science and technology education. Also on site are a number of excellent places to eat and drink including the Scholar’s Rest refectory and three coffee shops. The Glyndŵr University Student Village is situated at the northern edge of the site, a short distance from the library, the supermarkets and the Students’ Guild. Creative Industries Centre Glyndŵr University's new £5m Creative Industries Centre reflects the growing importance of the creative industries to the economic development of the north east Wales region. Centre for the Child, Family and Society Following the Welsh Assembly Government’s ground breaking approach to child development Glyndŵr University is investing £2 million in a new Centre for the Child, Family and Society. The Centre is based on an integrated approach to child development and therefore includes a wide variety of specialisms as they affect children including health, nutrition, child psychology, exercise and education.
