Facilities
There has been a significant investment recently in the buildings and campus which now boasts refurbished student accommodation, lecture rooms, conference facilities, sports hall, workshops and laboratories. Students at Northop have the opportunity to use Deeside College facilities, such as the equine unit and glasshouses at the site.
Sports Facilities The refurbished sports Hall at the Northop Campus allows for basketball, badminton, netball, table tennis, 5 ‘a’ side football and volleyball. Other sporting activities are welcome, subject to availability. Students can undertake activities throughout the day (subject to availability, please see facility hire). All commercial recreational bookings are welcome and can be hired as a 'one off' or be block booked. The hall can also be used for events, promotions & educational activities (Catering option available). The campus also provides cross country running and orienteering courses, for people and horses. In addition to the sports facilities on the Northop campus, students will have access to all the facilities available through the Sports Centre on the Wrexham campus. These include a water-based international hockey pitch, a sand-based pitch for football, the Human Performance Laboratory and, inside the Sports Centre, a 1000sqm wooden sprung floor, dance studio, fitness suite and spectator facilities. Glyndwr University Northop Educational & Seminar Centre To service our academic needs, we have large and small teaching and conference/seminar rooms, the majority of which are equipped with an excellent standard of IT provision. These excellent facilities can be hired for external educational and corporate use. Within our service we can include in our price, the option of providing a catering service. BHS Approved Equine Unit
The BHS Approved Equine Unit and Exam Centre provides students with a range of excellent facilities suitable for practical sessions and events. The superb purpose-built facilities at the campus include an indoor arena with viewing gallery (50x30), floodlit outdoor arena (60x40), stabling, paddocks and two cross country courses. There are also the facilities for hacking in the grounds of the campus. For those who are keen equestrians the unit is a popular venue for clinics and competitions held by associated and external parties, giving students extra opportunities to gain experience in such areas, often with top riders and well-renowned trainers and experts. The student accommodation at the Glyndŵr University Northop campus, has undergone extensive refurbishment. This refurbishment provides modern, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting for those students who choose to live on campus. There are excellent communal facilities including a common room and a patio / bbq area outside, which provides an additional area for socialising on warm evenings.
The student halls of residence are centrally located right on campus, offering a convenient place to live while studying at Glyndŵr University Northop. They also boast fantastic views of the grounds. All rooms will be wi-fi enabled, making them ideal for those who like to study in the peace and quiet of their own space. The refurbished Glyndŵr Northop centre provides a sports hall and changing facilities. The sports hall facilitates various sporting activities, such as badminton, netball, table tennis, five-a-side football, basketball and volleyball. Other recreational activities are welcome (subject to availability). The campus also provides cross-country running and orienteering courses, for people and horses. The hall is also an ideal facility to host events. These events can be educational, corporate or developmental in nature. We can provide a catering service and access to lecture rooms for seminars and buffets. Learning resources
Glyndŵr University and Deeside College have joined together in a strategic partnership to deliver a unique land-based campus on the This will offer both further and higher education provision within distinct parts of the site. As part of the development, a significant investment is being made in new books and IT resources for students at our Flintshire campus. Glyndŵr University students also enjoy membership of the Library service at our Wrexham campus. This service includes reciprocal borrowing arrangements and a shared catalogue with Bangor University Libraries, as well as access to the full range of resources available in north Wales through the LINC y Gogledd scheme. Students at both campuses can benefit from the assistance offered by Glyndŵr University's helpful and friendly Library staff by contacting enquirydesk@glyndwr.ac.uk in the first instance. |
