Access to HE
If you left school with few or no qualifications, or have been working for a while, the Access to Higher Education course will prepare you for study at university.
You can study at your local college either full-time (one year) or part-time (two years). The course covers a range of subjects, and on completion you’ll be awarded the necessary credits to go on to a degree course.
Professional Courses
Focused on boosting your career prospects, these are industry-recognised qualifications developed with organisations such as CIM, ILM and NEBOSH. Ideal for both employees and employers, there’s the chance to apply learning in the work-place. There are options to study on campus or at your local college, dependent on your choice of course.
Individual Modules
Want to experience university without committing to a degree? We now offer many of the modules that make up a full degree as standalone courses. With subjects like Presentation Skills, Marketing and Business Context on offer, they’re a good way to boost your skills while earning credits towards a degree.
Foundation Degrees
If you want to improve your career prospects, return to work or change jobs, a Foundation Degree can help you get there. Unlike an honours degree, you only need 120 points to be accepted – the equivalent to one A-Level. And though it’s recognised by employers as a standalone qualification, it can be converted into an honours degree. This is through ‘topping-up’ through a year (or its part-time equivalent) at Glyndŵr University.
- Career-focused
Designed in partnership with employers, foundation degrees focus on a specific area of work while providing useful skills for any job. You get the chance to apply what you learnt in the classroom to real projects in the workplace. This means you’ll develop the right technical and practical skills for your preferred career - Flexible Learning
Full-time foundation degrees take two years – part-time options last longer. You can study at your local college or in the workplace.
