After you have applied

Once you have submitted your application either through UCAS or directly to Glyndŵr University, we will consider your application and will contact you directly.

For certain courses such as Education, Nursing and Social Work, interviews are compulsory. Most courses, however, offer the opportunity for an informal interview prior to making an offer. Art and Design courses will require the presentation of a portfolio while Theatre, Television and Performance will request an audition.

For UCAS applicants all official decisions will be made through UCAS. Offers will be unconditional or conditional on academic examination results and, in certain cases, the gaining of experience in a setting related to the course. Courses involving work with young people or vulnerable adults will usually require Criminal Records Bureau clearance.

Instructions on how to select and accept offers are available on the UCAS website. You will be able to view the ongoing status of your application online via UCAS Track.

Try watching one or more of the short video clips at www.ucas.tv to understand what is needed at each part of the process.

UCAS Extra

Extra runs from the end of February until Clearing and allows applicants who have used all their five choices and have been unsuccessful or have declined offers to apply for a course. Check your UCAS Track to see if you are eligible. Further details about Extra are available on the UCAS website.

Clearing

Clearing is a service which runs between mid-July and September to allow applicants to try to secure a university place. Only courses with vacancies will be open to receive applications. See UCAS for further details.
