7 February 2006
Between the 13th and 17th February NEWI’s North Wales School of Art and Design is opening its doors to the public. The Open Week will give budding artists and potential students an opportunity to wander around the school and get a feel for what it’s really like to be an art student. There will be students and staff on hand to answer questions and talk to visitors and a wide range of students’ work will be on display including sculpture, glasswork and illustration.
Students starting this September will benefit from the new facilities which are currently being developed at the art school, the first phase of development work included the new Digital Hub which will provide workspace for digital media, multi-media and graphic design students. Currently under-construction is the Applied Arts Centre which will be used for a range of art work including 3D modelling, glass, metalwork, jewellery and ceramics. Visitors to the Open Week will be able to find out more about these new facilities.
The Art School will be open to visitors 13th-17th February between 9am and 5pm. All are welcome. For more information call 01978 293439.
