Top Prize for Dedicated Beatriz

A student from Spain has been awarded a prize from one of the world’s largest professional engineering organisations after achieving a first class degree.

Beatriz Escartin collected the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) prize, presented annually to an outstanding engineering student studying at Glyndŵr University, at her graduation ceremony this week.

Beatriz, who studied avionics, receives a cash prize and free membership of the IET as part of the award. She said: “I was shocked when I found out I was going to be awarded the prize but I feel really lucky. Hopefully it will open up new career opportunities.”
