Glyndŵr University awards degrees of the University of Wales.

Glyndŵr University offers over 150 courses.

Glyndŵr University has a wide variety of facilities on its campuses, including a radio studio, sound recording studio, art gallery, engineering laboratories, IT facilities, theatre studios, sport centre, second language learning centre, Chinese Medicine clinic, scene of crime suite, and conference centre. The campus at Northop, Flintshire, is a BHS Approved Equine Centre and a Centre of Excellence for Floristry and Horticulture.

Glyndŵr University has its own art school, The North Wales School of Art & Design which offers a variety of art courses, from the modern through to the traditional arts.

Glyndŵr University was listed in the top 10 cheapest places to live on campus in the UK in the Sunday Times University Guide 2008.

94% of our graduates find employment, go on to further study or both within 6 months of graduation, and 69% of our first degree graduates secure employment in the UK. This compares to 64% of students at all UK higher education institutions and 62% of those studying in Wales.*

Courses at Glyndŵr University range from foundation degrees, HND/Cs and honours degrees to masters degrees and doctorates.

Glyndŵr University attracts students not just from throughout the UK but from all over the world. In 2007/08 the 'top ten' countries were as follows: 1. Spain; 2. France; 3. India; 4. Germany; 5. China; 6. Poland; 7. Pakistan; 8. Russia; 9. Bangladesh; 10. Ireland, Italy, Sri Lanka.

Glyndŵr University can trace its history back to 1887, with the foundation of Wrexham School of Science & Arts. In July 2008 the former North East Wales Institute of Higher Education (NEWI) gained university status and formally became Glyndŵr University.

Glyndŵr University has its own motor racing team run by students on the Performance Car degree courses.

Glyndŵr University offers a wide range of full- and part-time courses.

Glyndŵr University is the only place in the UK to offer a degree in Illustration for Children’s Publishing.

The main Glyndŵr University site at Plas Coch covers 31 acres.

Glyndŵr University is proud of its local links with industry including Airbus UK, Daimler Chrysler, Rolls Royce, the North Wales Police, the Japanese company San-Ei Gen, and OpTIC Glyndŵr.

Glyndŵr University has around 6,000 students, with around 2,000+ from overseas.

* The employment statistics referred to relate to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education Survey (2006/07). This survey provides information on the activities of students after leaving a higher education institution (HEI) in 2006/2007. This is currently the latest published edition of the survey. The next survey will come out in the summer of 2009 and be called the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education Survey (2007/2008).
