'World-leading research in Wales'
Welcome to the Centre for Applied Internet Research (CAIR) pages at Glyndwr University in Wrexham, North Wales. CAIR is one of eight fully-accredited and recognised research centres within Glyndwr. In the recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008), 90% of CAIR's research was judged to be 'internationally significant', 40% 'internationally excellent' and some even 'world-leading' - the highest grade possible. We are involved in research projects across the whole spectrum of Internet technologies and applications and host the biennial ITA conference series. (We are busy planning for ITA 11!
CAIR consists of six loosely defined sub-groups, each with their own specialisms but working together on many projects:
--- Network Algorithms Group (NAG)
--- Human-Computer Interaction Group (HCIG)
--- Music Technologies Group (MTG)
--- Games Research Development Team (GRDT)
--- Imaging and Remote Sensing Group (IRSG)
--- Wireless Systems Group (WSG)
--- High-Performance Computing Group (HPCG)
These pages provide information for current and potential academic and industrial partners as well as staff who are research active within the group, or who may be interested in following research initiatives. These will tell you about CAIR staff & students, recent publications, grants & awards, etc. as well as our comprehensive international conference and seminar programme.
